Coming soon: Report Multi-Column Groups

Learn how to optimize your Report presentation by customizing Report Multi-Column Groups

Enhancing the detail and quality of Report presentations through the customization of Multi-Column Groups is a valuable feature that allows for the inclusion of various column groups within a single report. Column Reports impact financial reporting by combining perspectives, scenarios, and time granularities into a single, flexible, and automated view. With powerful driver-based forecasts at the core, Jirav enriches client conversations by enabling to deliver actionable Insights in a simplified format to provide multiple perspectives and accelerate decision-making. This article aims to provide an understanding of the management of column group customization, including the processes of adding new groups, cloning existing groups, renaming, moving, and deleting them.

Email support@jirav.com to enable the Report Multi-Column Groups feature.

To modify Report Multi-Column Groups click on the Edit Columns icon under the right Navigation Panel of the Report:

Note, that Report Column Headers' functionality is applied to the following report types: Executive Summary, Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, Workforce, Custom, and Goals.

A group will contain most of the options that are currently in Reports such as Column Headers customization, choosing a Primary Source, Comparison Source #1 and #2, applying Variance # and % between Sources. Above the Group Settings will be report-level configurations that will only be chosen once and applied to the Report as a whole.

Report Multi-Column Groups functionality allows Users to create new Groups and manage them: rename, clone, delete and move.

Create new Groups

New Groups can be created using the button and will appear in order from left to right based on the order they were created. A new Group will always appear the furthest to the right, after all existing Groups. There can only be 5 Groups in a Report.

Note, that Column Headers are configured on the Group level and will be independent from Group to Group.

In the above recording example we will include 3 Groups where:

  1. Group 1 compares the Rolling Forecast Plan for Last Year shown as Years vs Actuals for the Previous year. Group 1 includes also Variance # calculated as Rolling Forecast less Actuals
  2. Group 2 presents Quarterly Rolling Forecast for Last Year
  3. Group 3 shows Plan 01/25 data for This Year-to-date Range as Months & Years

The Income Statement Report including 3 Groups explained above looks like one:

Group Management: Renaming, Cloning, Deleting and Moving

Groups can be managed by clicking on the next to the specific Group. Groups can be renamed, cloned, deleted and moved.

Groups can be renamed for easier identification:

  • Group names can not be duplicated
  • The character minimum limit will be 1 alpha-numeric character
  • The character maximum limit will be 150 characters

The below recording presents Group 1 - 3 renaming:

  • Group 1 to Rolling Forecast vs Actuals
  • Group 2 to Rolling Forecast Qrtly
  • Group 3 to Plan 01/25

Each created Group can be also cloned.  A cloned group will be an exact copy of the original (all Header settings, Source settings and Variance settings). The name of the cloned group will be “Cloned [name of cloned group]”.

If cloning a group ends up exceeding the Group name character limit, the name will be truncated in order to fit the Cloned prefix. Characters from the end of the name can be removed to allow for the extra characters.

Once the max number of groups is reached a user will not be able to clone a Group.

Groups included under the Report can be deleted. Please note, that a deleted Group will be permanently deleted.

Groups can be moved right and left:

  • the Group that is the furthest to the right can not be moved right
  • the Group that is the furthest to the left can not be moved left
